How we configure outlook

  1. In Outlook, click on File.
    Select Info then click Add Account.

    Select the option Manually configure server settings or additional server types then click Next.

    Select Internet E-mail then click Next.

    On the next screen, select IMAP for the Account Type and enter in mail.ucla.edu as both your Incoming and Outgoing mail server. For User Name: enter your UCLA Logon ID. Complete the other remaining fields with your name and e-mail address and then click More Settings.

    Click on the Outgoing Server tab. Check the box that says My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.

    Click on the Advanced tab. Under the Incoming mail field, select SSL for Use the following type of encrypted connection. Under the Outgoing mail field, select TLS for Use the following type of encrypted connection. You do not need to manually modify the port numbers listed as Outlook like automatically adjust them depending on the settings and mail protocol you select. Click OK.
